Founded in 1992, Craig A. Otto Architect, Inc. exists for one sole purpose – to help people bring their visions to life. Whether it be designing commercial office space, medical facilities, or churches, Craig has served the midlands of South Carolina for over 30+ years. Craig A. Otto, Architect

At age 11, Craig found a T-Square and Triangle in his Dad’s desk drawer. Craig was fascinated by the strange tools and a seed was planted.  Several years later, in an 11th grade art class, the teacher held up a drawing a student had done the week before of a gas station across the highway from the high school.  Craig viewed it as a really good drawing and the teacher said this student had the makings of an Architect.  That statement challenged Craig and he decided right then he would become an Architect.

Not having the means to attend an accredited Architecture school like Clemson, Craig had to figure out another way.  Midlands Technical College offered an Associates Degree in Architectural Engineering Technology, which was the perfect alternative, and near Craig's homes and very affordable.  

After attending and graduating in 1980, Craig found a part time job and, after only 4 months, landed a full time position with a firm in Downtown Columbia on the 9th floor of the Jefferson Square building.  Craig felt he hit the big time at just under 20 years old, and he has been working uninterrupted ever since.
 
After 10 years working for other firms and chomping at the bit to get out on his own, Craig was licensed in 1990 and started his own firm just two months later.  After more than 40 years in business, he's now completed hundreds of projects.  Craig still enjoys Architecture as much as he ever has and looks forward to coming to work every day to serve his clients.
